Melania Trump has mostly avoided the spotlight since Inauguration Day a month ago. The First Lady was hailed for her treatment of victims of the Los Angeles wildfires while traveling with her husband, President Donald Trump, but she has been rarely seen since. Melania’s whereabouts have become a recurring subject in recent years.
Melania has stated that her second White House term will be different. The First Lady won’t live in the White House full-time, and a new source has described her life. She doesn’t seem to have much time for politics.
Melania confirmed her position on her second term after Donald Trump won the 2024 election. She has spent the previous few years supporting Barron, her and Donald’s son, out of the spotlight.
Remember, Barron returned to New York and began studying at Stern Business School at New York University. First Lady Melania has indicated she will perform various jobs, but she won’t live in Washington full-time.
White House is my destination. You know I’ll be in New York when needed. I will be in Palm Beach as needed. My top priority is being a mother, first lady, and wife. After we take office on January 20, you serve the nation, Melania said Fox News.
Melania joined her husband on Election Day and Inauguration Day. Besides that, the US First Lady is rarely seen.
Melania has become a true American since arriving in the 1990s, although she retains her Slovenian ancestry. Melania and Donald visited with Governor Gavin Newsom in Los Angeles last month to discuss rebuilding wildfire-ravaged communities.
Melania Trump lauded for speaking Slovenian to wildfire victim
One user on X submitted a beautiful 30-second film of Melania comforting wildfire victims, including a Slovenian-speaking woman. Social media users lauded the First Lady for her kindness and native language.
The Daily Mail said that one user said, “Seeing Melania so much more involved this time around is amazing.” Another said, “When we speak to people in their native tongue, they feel heard, listened to, and loved! A remarkable First Lady.”
A third said: “First Lady Melania Trump comforts wildfire victims in her native language. Melania is beautiful and graceful with a ballcap.”
Melania missed the Super Bowl in New Orleans with her husband, and she has spent a lot of time in Florida since Trump took office. Melania might have been at the White House as Donald Trump greeted world leaders to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Melania has not attended Donald’s receptions for Netanyahu, Ishiba, King Abdullah II, and Modi, according to CNN. Donald signed executive orders and invited champion women’s sports teams to the Oval Office without her.
Where’s Melania Trump?
What Melania has been doing is secret, sparking suspicion. An unknown insider told People Magazine that Melania has been filming her Amazon documentary.
A political source told the news outlet that Melania’s withdrawal from the spotlight during Trump’s first month in office “should not come as a surprise because this is how she lives.” The insider said Melania “will never be a traditional first lady” and has “her own ideas on what she wants to do.”
According to People Magazine, the first lady “has been involved with moving ahead on her own projects, and recently she has been in the White House for that.”
“Melania has been busy shooting her documentary in several locations, including the White House,” a Miami political source told People.
Amazon stated they were filming a Melania behind-the-scenes feature on January 6. A follow-up documentary series is being made alongside the documentary, which will be released in theaters later this year.
According to Puck News, three sources say the licensing deal is worth $40 million. The film began filming in December 2024 and will be released in theaters and on Netflix in the second half of 2025.
Prime Video will share more details on the project when filming progresses and distribution plans are set, Amazon added. “We are excited to share this truly unique story with our millions of customers worldwide.”
Melania Trump to star in documentary
Melania discussed the new documentary on Fox & Friends in early January. Since her memoir was “such a success” she thought people would want to hear more from her.
I wanted to make a movie about my life. My life rocks. I told my agent I had an idea, so please negotiate a deal for me amid the chaos. We’re shooting currently after starting production in November. It’s daily life. People they don’t know will see what I’m doing and my obligations, Melania said Fox.
Day-to-day from transition team to White House, packing, forming my team, the First Lady office, moving in. How to make residents your home and hire the right people.”
She said stepping into the White House again will be different now that she knows the process.
“I have the plans, I could move in, I already packed, I already selected the furniture that needs to go in, so it’s a very different transition this time, second time around,” Melania added. On January 20, the transition team has five hours to move Bidens out and us in, therefore everything must be organized to the minute.
‘I’m standing alone to fit’
When Melania became First Lady in 2016, many worried she wouldn’t handle it. Melania told Fox that people “didn’t accept” or “didn’t understand” her at first and didn’t back her.
Perhaps some regard me as the president’s wife, but I’m independent and fit. My opinions and yes/no are mine. I don’t always agree what my husband is saying or doing, and that’s okay,” she added.
Though Melania has been away from Washington – and the spotlight – for quite a while, she’s suddenly returned to the White House. CNN reported that the First Lady attended the Governors Ball last weekend, and fans await her next public appearance.
She has alternated between Mar-a-Lago and the White House for the past month. According to People Magazine, Melania hasn’t been in the capitol for formal First Lady activities.
“[Donald and Melania] live at Mar-a-Lago and have White House quarters,” the person claimed. He said, “But she leads her own life and joins him when appropriate in either place,” adding that she “keeps to herself” in Palm Beach but meets Donald to dinner “on occasion.”
Melania Trump ‘to improve’ Donald Trump’s White House diet.
Melania concentrated on her Be Best campaign to combat childhood bullying during her first time in office. The Slovenian-born former model told Fox in January that she wants to expand the awareness campaign in the coming years.
“Nobody supported me much. Melania said she invited all streaming platforms to the White House. I didn’t get much support from the roundtable. If they support me and teach the kids about social media and mental health, imagine what we could accomplish in those years.”
Melania is expected to have another major White House responsibility in the coming years in addition to her Be Best campaign. PageSix reports that she wants to improve her husband’s diet in Washington.
Melania will promote her husband’s diet, a source told the news outlet. Who might she help? Robert Kennedy Jr.
“RFK Jr. and Melania are ‘ganging up’ on the President-elect to eat healthier. The source advised fewer Big Macs and KFC and more lean protein, salad, and veggies for energy and well-being.
“Famously watches every bite”
Melania has even been cooking to “encourage” her husband to eat healthier, the insider added.
Melanie notoriously monitors every bite she takes… She has influenced their son’s diet since toddlerhood. Mar-a-Lago members see her at the spa for workouts, skin care, and hair treatments, the insider said.
Yet another Trump source told PageSix: “Nonsense! Trump eats freely.”
