The Las Vegas Sphere Erupted When Kenny Chesney Brought Out Kelsea Ballerini for a Wild Country Moment

Kenny Chesney Makes History as First Country Artist to Launch Residency at the Las Vegas Sphere

Kenny Chesney officially kicked off his Las Vegas Sphere residency on Thursday, May 22, marking a major milestone as the first country artist to ever headline at the cutting-edge venue.

The Las Vegas Sphere, which opened in September 2023, is known for its jaw-dropping 16K resolution wraparound interior screen and immersive design, seating over 17,000 fans. The venue has already hosted musical legends like U2, The Eagles, and Phish — and now, Chesney joins their ranks with a high-energy country twist.

Opening night was packed with surprises, but one of the standout moments came when Chesney welcomed his longtime friend and fellow country star, Kelsea Ballerini, to the stage.

The crowd erupted during Chesney’s performance of his 1999 classic “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy,” when Ballerini stepped out to sing along. The pair didn’t stop there — they went on to perform their emotional duet “Half of My Hometown” and the beloved hit “You and Tequila.”

Chesney’s Sphere residency will continue with 11 more shows through June 14, and if opening night is any indication, fans can expect even more unforgettable moments and surprise guests.

Check out a clip of Chesney and Ballerini sharing the stage for “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” — and stay tuned to see what else this historic residency has in store.
